Formula SAE

Formula SAE is an international competition which challenges students to design, build, and test a formula style race car.

What is Formula SAE?

Formula SAE designs, builds, manufactures, tests and races a student built "formula style" race car. The Society of Automotive Engineers provides a rules set, for the team to design within. The rules are limited so that the knowledge creativity and imagination of the students is challenged. The cars are built in a year and are taken to the annual competition for judging and comparison with approximately 100 other vehicles from colleges and universities around the world. Cars are judges on technical inspection, cost, presentation, and engineering design, solo performance trials, and endurance. The end result is a great experience for young engineers in a meaningful hands on engineering project.
