Faculty honored by Innovation and Partnerships

Virginia Tech Innovation and Partnerships’ held their fourth annual Celebrating Innovation event on April 28, 2025. During the awards portion, three faculty from the Department of Mechanical Engineering were honored for exceptional scholarship and ingenuity.

• Michael Bartlett was recognized for his development of adhesion technologies, which has garnered strong interest from industry leaders and has sponsored research and licensing agreements in progress. 
• Roop Mahajan was recognized for his previous induction as a senior member of the National Academy of Inventors.
• Anne Staples was recognized for her development of a wearable drug delivery device poised to revolutionize mobile treatments such as diabetes management and chemotherapy.
