Research Interests

  • Wearable Robotics
  • Biomechanics of movement
  • Mechatronic Systems

My research centers on building human-assistance devices and on understanding how to make them work most effectively with the body.  The goal is to help people to regain capabilities they have lost, or enable people to perform feats that were not previously possible.  Specifically, my research interests include designing flexible human interfaces for mechanical and electrical systems, understanding human biomechanics and the body’s internal control strategy, and creating sensors and control systems for wearable robots.
