Industry engagement
We welcome industry partners to collaborate with our department for a variety of benefits: increase visibility on campus, recruit talented mechanical engineers for experiential learning, internships, co-ops, and full-time jobs, or participate in senior design capstone projects. Contact Industry Relations Manager Alyssa Rametta to learn how your company can get involved and grow your talent pipeline.
Mechanical Engineering students of all academic levels are eager to gain hands-on work experience with your company through internships, co-ops, part-time and full-time employment. Work with us to market your opportunities within and beyond Handshake.
Meet our students at both formal and informal networking events year-round, customized to meet your hiring needs. Register for one of Virginia Tech’s numerous career fairs, or host a casual coffee chat to share information about your company’s opportunities.
Engage with Mechanical Engineering students directly at their student organization meetings or sponsoring one of our award-winning student design teams. Virginia Tech student life includes thriving society chapters, clubs that center around professional and technical topics, and research at all stages that prepares students for a competitive job market.
By sponsoring a Mechanical Engineering Senior Design Capstone Project, industry partners can work with a team of 6-10 students (roughly 2,400 person-hours) to create prototypes and solve your industry specific problem.
Our team includes more than 80 faculty, bringing a wealth of expertise in research and technology to the table. Many have a background in industry themselves, and know how to produce relevant results. Take a look at how our faculty expertise can help solve your industry problems.
