Steve Southward, an associate professor in mechanical engineering, has been invited to present a webinar addressing his creation of a controls lab in a virtual online environment.

The title of the webinar is, "Texas Instruments Arm®-based MCU emulator using the MATLAB programming environment for online control lab education."

Texas Instruments hosts a free webinar series where contributors from around the globe are invited to give seminars that help a worldwide community boost skills in integrating educational technologies. Southward’s presentation is primarily focused on the development of an undergraduate control lab used in his class, based around the Texas Instruments TI MSP432 microcontroller.  Southward developed a completely online version of the lab with innovative programming in Matlab, creating a realistic simulation of the hands-on experience students usually have in a classroom.

The seminar will be presented virtually on Friday, February 5, at 2:00 EST.
