Connor Herron wins Best Presenter at IMECE 2022

Connor Herron won Best Presenter at the 2022 International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition, held October 31 - November 3 in Columbus, Ohio. Herron's presentation reported the research of the Terrestrial Robotics Engineering Controls Lab, showcasing a project that brings together virtual reality with haptic interfaces to better train first responders to manage disaster situations.
Herron is a graduate student who joined the TREC lab in Summer 2017 as an undergraduate researcher. His undergraduate research focused on a range of robotics topics including mechanical design, stress evaluation, PCB design, sensor integration, analog and digital filtering, system identification, and controller design. He started his graduate studies in Fall 2020, studying higher-level controls applications in robotics.
