Juliana Pacheo-Duarte, an assistant professor in the nuclear program within mechanical engineering, has been featured for her contributions to nuclear engineering by Women in Nuclear - Brazil.

In the facebook post, Pacheo-Duarte talked about the opportunities given to her by her mother's hard work.

"I have great gratitude for the women leading up to my life, in particular for my mother, the first in the family to go to higher education. She became a jurist and prosecutor, opening numerous doors for my sister and I. The daughter of a poor woman who had completed only a primary education, my mother took a huge leap that made it possible for me and my sister to be the third and second people in the maternal family to complete a bachelor's degree."
