Assistant Professor Michael Bartlett is the recipient of the 2020 Early Career Scientist Award from The Adhesion Society. The award was presented at The Adhesion Society meeting on February 22, 2021.  Bartlett received the award for his contributions to the understanding and development of reversible and switchable adhesives.

The purpose of the award is to recognize an early career scientist for conducting outstanding and fundamental research in adhesion science. Nominees are early-career scientists who have contributed in an outstanding and innovative way to the progress of the field of adhesion science research and/or technology. 

The Adhesion Society promotes the advancement of the science and technology of adhesion and the dissemination of this knowledge, promotes education and training in the science and technology of adhesion, and provides recognition of accomplishments in the international adhesion science and technology community.
