Matt Collins, manager of the Advanced Product Prototyping Laboratory in Engineering Design (APPLIED) in Mechanical Engineering, is the winner of the 2023 Technical Award from the College of Engineering Staff Association. The award, recognizing one exceptioal person each year among the technical staff of the college, was presented at the association's annual luncheon on Monday, May 8.

Collins joined the university in 2022 after a successful career in industrial production. As manager of APPLIED, he oversees the safety and training of students using machinery to build projects for the Capstone Senior Design program in Mechanical Engineering.
