Ms. Sloan has over 30 years of experience in the design, development, analysis and licensing of nuclear reactor technologies. She has held successive leadership roles in BWXT Advanced Technologies, growing the engineering organization and developing advanced reactors for terrestrial applications, nuclear thermal propulsion and space power. In her current role, she supports deployment of the BWXT Advanced Nuclear Reactor (BANR) by leading total program scope planning, bridging between the commercial and technical leadership teams.
Ms. Sloan has B.S. and M.S. degrees in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University. After graduating, she joined the Idaho National Laboratory (INL), where she worked in the areas of thermal hydraulics and safety analysis for advanced light water reactor designs. Subsequently, at AREVA (now Framatome) she held progressive engineering and management positions, and led the licensing activities for the U.S. EPR advanced light water reactor.
Ms. Sloan is active in the American Nuclear Society (ANS), has served on the ANS Board of Directors, is a past chair of the ANS Operations & Power Division, and currently serves on the ANS Honors & Awards Committee. She is the Vice-President of the Virginia Section of ANS. She serves on the Advisory Council of the Texas A&M Nuclear Engineering Department and on the Ohio State University Nuclear Engineering Advisory Board.
